The best home studio does not have to cost the earth and many times you don’t even need to add an extension to your home in order to create a professional sounding recording to rival the very best studios in the world.
The main thing that lets most recordings down is a poor sound source so you should start off spending your budget on great mics and instruments. You can then choose a room for that will work best for your home studio and start to add some sound proofing.
I would then move onto looking for a PC to capture the sound.
