A songwriting rhyming dictionary can be a great tool when you’re struggling to finish off the lyrics in a new song.
But like anything this can be really overused leaving your songs sounding like some kind of crazy childs nursery rhyme.
The best songwriters like Johnny Cash or Elvis Costello seem to use rhyme in such a clever way slipping in cheeky little rhyming phrases in the most unexpected places. I think that is the real skill of a real wordsmith.
The songwriting dictionary below has help me no end and I would recommend it if your looking to come up with some truly ordinal words for your stories.
