If you’re going to mix your own music at home then firstly you need to get an audio editing program like Pro Tools to work with up to 24 tracks in the same program with FX and EQ.
Now you want to focus on the drums and bass and make sure they’re working well together and complimenting each other.
After that many people would add a pad track which is a subtle background sound that adds feeling to the song. Use a warm synth or acoustic guitar for this.
You can now move onto your main instruments which will sit well in the mix as long as you have a good source recording and keep FX to a minimum.
