Home Recording Video

Sometimes the best option when miking a bass is not to use any miking at all. This may sound a bit strange but recently I have been running a few experiments with just plugging the bass straight into the Audio interface.

Of course the sound depends very much on the quality of the audio interface you use, but I’ve found that even when using an Mbox I have been able to capture some usable bass sounds.

Roll off a bit of the top end with your EQ package and you’re left with a nice tight bass sound that responds to signal processing very well.

Unless you have a really nice bass amp I would recommend this.
