Hi Gang, Ed here. This post will go into a few of my thoughts on home recording studio setup and at the end I have provided a few of my fav photos to inspire your own home recording studio experiments.
How far we have come in home recording, not too many years ago if you wanted to get any kind of sound that Mr. Radio DJ would play you would be all set for a money sucking trip to the local thousand dollar an hour recording facility to plead with the in house engineer that your guitar solo really had to be that little bit louder.
In this post we will discover that there is now a world of options open to the buddy home studio engineer and some of them are even free!
Enter the digital era with all its money saving bells and whistles.
The best bet for a home recording studio setup would be to get hold of an ultra portable lap top and the install a program like pro tools which is pretty much what all the top producers are using these days.
You’ll need =>>
Microphone - A good condenser mic will be best
Laptop - Please save you pennies and get a Mac
Protools - Industry standard dogs nuts software
Keyboard controller - So you can trigger some midi sounds and give your tunes that big band feel.
The other great thing about making you own recording is that you are now in complete control of your record and you don’t have to answer to those pesky fat cats at the record companies who can have you strung up in some terrible contract for many years that say’s you must sell your mothers soul in the event of not selling one billion CDs in your first few weeks.
If you’re excited by home recording studio and want to start one of you own, keep your keys peeled on homerecodingcenter.com as we have just put together a new guide that will help you no end.
